The ATR-2 consists of an all-new, rebuildable model with an advanced ODS framework that takes energy mitigation to new heights. 6D has studied the nature of energy and knows there is a lot more to an impact than harsh, linear force. From angular to slow to high-speed impacts, the common denominator is time-to-peak (TTP), which is the time it takes for the energy to reach its maximum impact. The ODS framework absorbs energy and dissipates the force, increasing the TTP. The result: added time, mitigated energy, and hopefully less injury. Much like the ATR-1, the new ATR-2 brings a refined mitigation system allowing for a more fluid energy response. The construction is more dynamic as well with each piece of the system working independently from one another. This not only enhances the force mitigation but also gives the ability for components to be repaired or replaced separately, extending the life of the helmet and investment to the rider.</p> <p>With the advancement of the ODS technology, 6D engineering delivers a lid with innovation that far exceeds that of the competition. ATR-1 came to be from years of research and partnerships with outside organizations studying brain preservation and injury, most notably with the NFL.
